Silk City Gymnastics and Dance continue the tradition of Wininger’s Gymnastics and Dance (since 1974) to provide the highest quality gymnastics and dance instructions in the area. In 2018 the ownership changed but the philosophy and the coaching staff has remained the same. The new owners Lazar and Iliana Gakev continue to maintain the enjoyable environment for gymnastics and dance classes. Both, Lazar and Iliana have won numerous medals in International Gymnastics competitions and hold B.S. degrees in Gymnastics coaching. Lazar was an alternate for the 1988 Olympic Games and Iliana competed at the 1994 World Championships. With coaching experience of more than 30 years, Lazar and Iliana have coached many State and Regional champions, and National level competitors.
We want every single child walking in the gym to learn new skills and enjoy our gymnastics or dance classes. We promote learning life skills as goal setting, making smart effort and how to be an achiever.
She was the Captain of the Brown University Gymnastics Team in 2015. Danielle was named a collegiate All-American on vault in 2011 and holds the school record on floor with a 9.925.

Lazar and Illiana have been world class circus performers as well. In addition to their long list of international competitions, they have performed around the world in Cuba, Korea, Europe, United States, including Las Vegas!!
